WINTER ROSES

I designed this bridal coat for my winter wedding in Venice. I wanted to wrap myself in a cloud of warmth. The combination of a soft wool and silk jacket with a gazar skirt creates this double-breasted coat. The multilayered sculptural structure of the voluminous skirt echoes the Venetian baroque.
As if by magic a rose garden could bloom in the winter mists of Venice, the voluminous skirt blossoms like one of the white roses that, in turn, decorate it. Still roses appear and disappear in the damask pattern of the jacket and, finally, sprout from the neckline, in a blaze of wool, organza and satin petals.
