For her fabulous wedding in Athens Dimitra has chosen a timeless romantic design. The bell-shaped skirt with the scooped-out back creates a mixture of conservative and alluring feel. This exquisite organza gown was inspired by the sequences of image overlay in Picabia’s painting ‘Transparencies’. These dream-like paintings called for a meticulous work in cut-out laces.
On the sheer organza a neat corded lace overlaps delicate Chantilly lace embroideries. The blending of materials in slightly different shades, from cream, dusty pink and ivory with a sent of peach, recreates the distinctly evanescent sensibility of the ‘Transparencies’.
