BAMBI
I designed this gown for my own wedding. My husband calls me ‘cerbiatto’ (“doe” in English), therefore I wanted my dress to enchant him like a fairy tale. A fawn intarsia on its back sets the mood. A beaded 3D butterfly on the hip leads us into a magical wood. There, a clearing shows a magical garden with daises, peonies and all sorts of flowers.
A weightless base of tulle is appliquéd with myriads of delicate details, which took countless hours to hand-stitch together mosaic-style. Swatches of soft velvet and silk floss design intricate shrubs; other botanic elements are made of pearlescent micro-beads, hand-cut corded, macramé and Valenciennes laces.
